Iowa County Pickleball Agenda June 4, 2024

● 1. Setting up a 501c3

○ Finance Committee: Volunteers to date: Dawn Coffman, Deb Schuett

○ We need 1 or 2 more volunteers with some expertise in 501c3, and/or financial backgrounds

○ High Priority:

■ Apply for a 501c3

■ Bank account set up

■ Venmo Account–build QR code and post(Jodi can help with this part if needed

○ We cannot move forward without this committee and their expertise. Once we have these things done, we can move forward with the Fundraising Committee plannin g .

● 2. Make a plan for fundraising— Fundraising Committee

○ Volunteers to date: Michael M, Mary W. and Nancy G.

○ Laura Sauser will help with the Grant-Writing process once we are ready to move forward.

○ Dues? ($25/year?) ■ Members potluck and other fun events?

■ Get name on an email list for updates/events?

■ Possible court priority on certain days/times

■ $140K —we must raise at least half before applying for Grants.

● 3. Elect officers for our corporation–volunteers for now. We must establish some of that in our by-laws–Finance committee will develop this.

○ Officers–Currently volunteers: Future nominations/volunteers and terms, etc. must be established.

● 4. Create a detailed plan for building and maintaining the outdoor pickleball courts.

○ Tabled this for now ● 5. Create our own website in addition to the FaceBook page we now have.

○ Put out a request on Facebook for anyone with this expertise(Jodi will post this week)
