• Review minutes from Oct. 8th meeting (Cindy R)

  • Members in attendance: Jodi, Mindi, Deb Schuett, Dawn C., Cindy R., Michael.

  • Location for tonight’s meeting was Jodi’s house due to voting at Rec Ctr.

  • Order of agenda may change because some members have to leave early.

  • Finance(Dawn)

  • No news on 501c3–could take 160 days;

  • Hills Bank Account–Jodi & Dawn are listed; Deb soon!

  • Balance report–446.45

  • Paid to Elite (shirts): $499.69

  • Total Profit from t-shirts: $446.45

  • Venmo@IaCoPickleball has been put to good use

  • Facebook: We now have 233 followers( Oct: 224; Sept: 210 followers)

• Williamsburg Court Project Updates

  • Court Construction/Progress

    • Dawn C. shared: Engineers for consideration for the Engineering study that is required by the City of Williamsburg

    • She was in contact with the City of Coralville and received 2 recommendations. Talked to City of C’ville about another bid for the court: (Sherri Proud)

    • Shoemaker & Haaland, Grant Finch(engineer)

    • Confluence Inc., Ben Sandell (engineer)

  • 3rd Bid(Dawn is waiting for info from City of Coralville)

  • Visit Belle Plaine Courts? What did we think of the surface? Fencing height?

    • Mindi went and didn’t notice a big difference in the court

  • Next steps TONIGHT: Email City Council–with questions/clarifications

    • Set fundraising Goal –need to wait until contractor is chosen

    • Meet with City Council–get on next agenda–Nov. 12th

    • Choose the Contractor and Engineer

    • Fwd to Eric Tindal and all city council….and follow up with a call?(Jodi)(Done!)

    • PBBoard–send questions to Jodi to coordinate for our meeting with City Council.

• Fundraising Efforts

  • T-shirts update(Jodi)-Total Raised was $466.25

  • Large capital fundraising plan (Mary & Michael)--On hold until Nov. 12

    • Edit script and fundraising spreadsheet with board members--should be in your shared drive

    • Some businesses split up among the group

      • Did we get an updated list? Yes.

      • Edit the script(s)?

    • Next Steps: When to begin? Juggling multiple layers but we need to clarify with the City Council before moving forward.

      • Begin to raise some smaller amounts to pay for the engineering study, before moving to larger. Set up some events…

      • Begin meeting at local establishments to connect

      • Winery Event (Mindi)

        • Silent auction, social events and possible lessons connecting.

    • Set up a Membership Committee (after holidays)

    • After City Council Meeting, set some tight timelines

    • Working on multiple facets towards our goals. Recruit some help!

    • *Next Wed., (11/13) after pickleball, meet to brainstorm any other fundraising ideas–(@ Rec Ctr)

• –looking for other fundraising suggestions/ideas. Plus, we are supporting a local business (order from Blommes) and connecting with our members!

  • Do we need a separate meeting for this work? When?

    • Mary and Michael will email us and let us know if they want to meet.

  • Erin Eichhorn has shared with Dawn Coffman that she is aware of a philanthropist. Dawn will check with her again.
